Boarding
Boarding is offered to those who have trained with Susan and Canines First in the past or are currently training with her. Occasionally, exceptions are made for dogs that are referred and are known to be trained, well-behaved and balanced. Unlike traditional boarding, dogs are allowed to participate in activities such as supervised walks, dog park visits, pool time and play time. Our goal is to offer the very best boarding possible within our urban environment.
The cost of boarding is $30 per night per dog. Clients can request drop off and pick up of their dogs to and from their home by an employee of Canines First at the cost of $25 per trip. Canines First requires a deposit of $30 per dog to hold a reservation. This deposit is non-refundable in the event of cancellation but will be deducted from the total bill at the end of your dog’s visit. Please see our contract for more information about services and incidental costs.
Our capacity limit for dogs whether attending Canines First for the purpose of overnight care or training is seven. The purpose for this limit is to offer a pack size that is natural to dogs in an effort to maintain low stress levels that help ward off aggression. Because of this fact, we encourage our clients to book as far in advance as possible.

Boarding is offered seven days per week. Drop off and pick up times are between 7 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. ALL clients must pick up and drop off by appointment. This rule is established for the safety of the dogs and clients due to our relaxed environment within the facility as dogs may be roaming at any time. Unexpected visitors can cause panic to the dogs. When clients are arriving for drop offs or pick ups, the dogs are crated for everyone’s safety.
